Purpose of the job:

To ensure that the Service Locomotives Europe achieves its growth plan within the market place by:

  • Supporting the procurement channels in the roll-out of new business opportunities with new and existing strategic customers, working closely with the Procurement Leads in each country covered by the SLE and with PL Services Procurement;
  • Managing profitable strategic partnerships and alliances within Alstom;
  • Ensuring all Material Management activities for assigned projects including the interface versus Procurement for sourcing, negotiations, contract preparation and follow up, bids & tenders governance on Costed Bill of Material (based on locomotives business needs).
  • Evaluate saving initiatives with bottom-line impact within scope of work.
  • Constant communication with peers within the global organization to ensure alignment and maximization of synergy through:
  • Attending the project core meetings providing material management support and commitment in all project phases (bid, execution, warranty, after warranty);
  • Follow the procuring material after negotiation to grant the alignment on scope, budget, timeframe while improving supply chain costs and reducing inventory levels in Central Warehouses;
  • Support and/or monitor the comparison and analysing offers from suppliers;
  • Monitor that STCs are negotiated and maintained for all relevant Services preventive materials;
  • Actively support in the issuing RfQs, Pos, Long Term Supplier agreements;
  • Create, manage and improve interfaces with other Product Lines and Functions;
  • Monitor the status of supplier base relationship at international level;
  • Support local teams on: claims and suppliers' specific relations, on Bids C-BoM definition and preparation;
  • Push Procurement community for second sourcing processes for service contracts, and challenging global procurement to concentrate more on service activities;

Follow and support, verifying procedures and time schedule, the GPC competence centre for activities related to SLE scope.

 

Key responsibilities and challenges:

  • Leadership:  Attitude to work within a virtual team (outside place of work), capability to manage cross function processes, experience in complex/matrix organization, excellent interpersonal skills with team, peers, partners, suppliers.
  • Co-ordination, preparation and precision of data input:  Experience in analysis and redefinition of company processes, experience in ensuring consistent reporting, strong focus on financial performance and projects results
  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge of Quality management system, knowledge of Supply Chain optimisation techniques, knowledge of SAP, Six Sigma, analytical skills, very strong Italian and English skills (including Technical / Negotiation Skills), other language skills considered a plus (German mainly)
  • Documentation: Verification and good understanding of contractual documents (T&C), in respect of AT policy and law regulations
  • Process Owner: support in implementation of standardized processes and tools, flawless coordination of information, to support a transparent and well informed business decision process
