You will be joining Alstom’s Technology Center in Villeurbanne (France) which is Alstom specialized center for the development of generic electronic or software products that will be used for all Alstom railway applications: onboard electronic products, telecom solutions, trackside products, and centralized server solution. In Villeurbanne you will join the team in charge of developing a brand-new platform hosting and executing railway supervision services used in control centers (train tracking, regulation, traffic management etc.). This new platform under development will be built around microservices architecture and publish & subscribe data exchange, using latest software technologies.

 

Your mission:
As Software Manager you will:

  • Define the software way of working through a software project management plan 
  • Manage the source code organization & configuration management
  • Supervise the development, build and continuous integration environment
  • Elaborate the software project deployment principles with internal customers
  • Supervise the overall software documentation (specification, interface description, validation reports, development manuals for customers)
  • Ensure correct application of process, manage software quality reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement (return of experience)
  • Coordinate the overall software activities of the full software team (30 ressources covering design and validation split into several smaller groups):
    • Plan the overall activities (Workload and planning)
    • Define the tasks and allocate to teams
    • Control activity progress and adapt the plan if needed
    • Supervise the software issues management: Analysis / Scheduling / Verification 
  • Report to the project core team the overall software activities

You will work under the responsibility of a program manager, be part of the program Core Teams, and will work closely with other engineering teams.
 

Your profile: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science / software engineering
  • Very Good knowledge of software development process and standard
  • Good knowledge of the following technologies:
    • Gitlab / Jenkins / DevOps
    • C# DOT.NET Core 
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in software development & architecture.
  • Already an experience of large team coordination, with remote resources
  • Capacity to work in English: technical reading, technical meetings, design reviews, email, and specification writing.
  • Good communication skills and capacity to work with remote teams
