As a V&V Designer you take part in testing campaigns for delivery of advanced Signaling system. In addition, you are responsible for checking pre-formulated requirements on safety and quality fulfillment. To achieve these results, you take part in a team of engineers with different disciplines. You are required to work in a structured way, pay attention to the details and be eager to learn each day. The candidate shall be able to execute tests base on test specification, may need to write test scripts into the automatic/manual test environment execute the scripts, understanding the Signalling principle and the produced system logs. Understand the software and hardware architecture of the system and being able to work on test benches with valid configuration. This position is suited for an experienced professional with a passion for SW and HW, railway and technology.

You will be part of an experienced team with engineering background degrees. V&V team consists of 10 members, including you.

 

     What a day in this role looks like:

  • Morning meeting with last news and the split of the tasks;
  • Deployment of new SW / every few weeks;
  • Manual testing (Integration tests, Regression Tests, Change request tests);
  • Input to Impact Analysis document;
  • Produce output deliverables, such as Test Report;
  • Maintaining of the Test Environment: on the cloud and real HW;
  • Analysis of Test log and System log;
  • Various meetings with Development team/ Interface with development and safety people.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education - Engineering degree (BAC +4 or 5) in Computer Sciences, Robotics, Automation, Electronics, Mechanics or in another similar technical specialty is mandatory.
  • Knowledge and passion for the railway industry and in particular Signalling is preferred (Rail-Minor).
  • Basics - Strong Background in Test & Integration activities in safety systems (e.g. aeronautics, railway …)
  • Operating system: Linux, Windows
  • Understanding of Computer Network Design
  • Good Knowledge in Computer Systems
  • Software Management Cycle Awareness: Waterfall Method, V-Model, SCRUM Methodology.
  • Requirement Management: DOORS and Reqtify.
  • Configuration Management: Version control of Software and Documentation: ClearCase, AEC, GitHub
  • Change management: Change requests and no conformity management: ClearQuest
  • Testing: System Test specification, Scripts writing, Manual Test Execution, Automated Test Execution, Functional Test Execution.
  • Networking: Computer network
  • Windows: Basics, Network configuration & diagnostics, file management system, text manipulation, script language basics bash/python/lua.
  • Working on cloud based systems – VMware.

Utrecht (the Netherlands)
32 - 40 Hours a week, office hours
Some availability might be requested during out-of-office hours.
Remote work is possible, up to two days a week.
Holiday: 40 days (27 day vacation and 13 working days reduction)
Salary range 4.200 – 6500 + bonus 8% + holiday allowance 8%
You will receive a laptop and a phone. Parking place is available in Utrecht office. Office easy to be reached by both public transportation and car. We have also a cafeteria in the building.
