Description of the position: 

  • The Head of Contract Management is responsible to lead the contract management activities of his/her Cluster/Country; and to organize and allocate Project Contract Managers (SPrCMs/PrCMs/JPrCMs), Key Supplier Contract Managers (KSCM) and Project Contract Administrators (PrCAs), as necessary and as required,  to the benefit of projects within his/her Cluster/Country.

  • The Head of Contract Management coordinate and supervise activities of PrCMs, PrCAs and KSCMs.  She/He ensure project contract management strategies are in place and implemented, in order to protect, on a daily basis and with a long-term view, Alstom’s interests towards customers, partners and suppliers/subcontractors.

  • The Head of Contract Management is responsible to ensure procedures and processes are applied, and to ensure timely and accurate inputs for the Contract Management reporting. 

  • The Head of Contract Management actively contributes to the global initiatives and animation of the Contract Management community.

  • For the projects the Head of Contract Management manages himself/herself,  he/she is a key member of the project team, working in close collaboration with the Project Manager and core project team. He/she provides guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive proactive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with Alstom’s business objectives.  He/she ensures proper record keeping and file preparation in support of robust claim files.

Scope of responsibilities: 

  • Put in place the appropriate contract management tools and processes.
  • Make sure the required governance is implemented in due time.
  • Coordinate and animate the Cluster’s/Country’s Contract Management community.
  • Anticipate events and risks, and propose various alternative proactive solutions in furtherance of Alstom’s business objectives.
  • Define claim strategies for critical projects in Cluster/Country.
  • Ensure that the projects within the Cluster/Country perform correct/accurate risk assessments, including supporting the Project Core Team Members in establishing and quantifying the risk level.
  • Reporting on claim status and strategies to Management.
  • Drive claim preparation, claim strategies and claim roadmaps to protect the Region’s P&L.
  • Responsible for the implementation and achievement of the Cluster’s/Country’s contract management and claims strategies, including claims reporting.
  • Perform the Contract Management responsibilites for the projects under his/her management as required by the Alstom guidelines.

Position requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience working in infrastructure project in a contract management / project legal / project management/ project finance role.
  • Experience in industrial sectors, preferably in the railway business, in oil & gas or other construction-related fields.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Fluency in Dutch and French will be considered highly.  Professional certification in Contract Management, also a plus.
  • A degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics or business sciences

  2. Any questions related to the processing of personal data by ALSTOM can be addressed to the Human Resources Department, Warsaw, ul. Kozia Gorka  9.
  3. Personal data provided by you will be processed for the following purposes:
  • your employment, performance of your employment contract and fulfilment by ALSTOM of rights and obligations under the labour law (e.g. verification of your eligibility for employment, granting of childcare leave, keeping of personal files and other documentation);
  • fulfilment of ALSTOM's legal obligations under other regulations [e.g. the obligation to report an employee to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), pay insurance premiums and pay income tax advances);
  1. ALSTOM's business activities;
  2. evidence, for the purposes of demonstrating facts and establishing, defending and pursuit of claims by ALSTOM, which are our legitimate interests;
  3. inserting data in the internal ALNET system, on ID cards, etc., which is our legitimate interest (identification and organisational purposes).
  • The basis for the processing of your personal data is Article 6(1)(b), of GDPR (necessity for the performance of a contract), Article 6(1)(c) of GDPR (necessity to comply with legal obligations to which ALSTOM is subject), Article 6(1)(f) of GDPR (ALSTOM's legitimate interests) and Article 6(1)(a) of GDPR (your consent – as regards the data to the processing of which you have consented).
  • With regard to personal data processed on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing which has been carried out on the basis of the consent prior to its withdrawal.
  1. ALSTOM may disclose your personal data to ALSTOM's authorised employees/associates; to entities providing services to ALSTOM, e.g. IT, insurance and legal services; to third parties cooperating with ALSTOM or to entities interested in establishing cooperation with ALSTOM, to the extent necessary for such cooperation; to entities affiliated with ALSTOM by capital or organisation; and to entities, including authorities and offices, which may request the disclosure of your personal data in accordance with the law (data recipients).
  2. Personal data will be stored for the period during which you are employed by ALSTOM, as well as after you have ceased being employed by ALSTOM – for the period required by applicable law.
  1. You have the right to access the content of your data and to:
  • correct it if your data is incorrect or incomplete,
  • delete it if:
  1.  the data is no longer necessary for purposes for which it has been processed,
  2. you withdraw your consent for the processing of the data and there are no other grounds for its processing,
  3. you have objected to the processing of the data and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing,
  4. the data is being unlawfully processed,
  5. the data should be deleted in order to comply with a legal obligation,
  6. restrict processing if:
  7. you question the accuracy of your personal data – for a period of time sufficient to verify the accuracy of the data,
  8. the data is being unlawfully processed, but you do not consent to its deletion,
  9. ALSTOM no longer needs the data, but you may need it to defend or pursue claims,
  10. you have objected to the processing of the data – until it has been determined whether ALSTOM's legitimate grounds prevail over the grounds for your objection,
  • transfer the data if the processing of the data is based on consent and is automated,
  • object to its processing where the processing is based on a legitimate interest and the objection is justified due to your particular situation.
  1. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, i.e. the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection, if you conclude that the processing of personal data does not comply with applicable regulations.
  2. ALSTOM may request personal data from you because this is required by the Labour Code and other laws.

In the case of personal data not listed in the Labour Code or other acts, the provision of such personal data by you is subject to voluntary consent. A refusal to consent to the provision of such personal data shall have no negative consequences for you.
