Could you be the full-time Costing Engineer in Toulouse we’re looking for?
 
The Electrical Development Center (EDC) in Toulouse is responsible to develop electrical products from detailed design stage until the serial go. Managing overall activities from design, manufacturing and retrofit.  
 
Your future role:
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Guillaume Jean, PME & Tender Manager, and work alongside passionate, motivated and dedicated teammates. 
As a Costing Engineer of Electrical development center (EDC), you will play a key role through the development of electical products.  You will be responsible to evaluate and to maintain the costs of the electrical product through the development cycle.  As the costing Engineer, you will participate to the creation of the target cost,  run ‘’design to cost’’ (DTC) activities with the designers to help optimize the designs and support Procurements in their negotiations with manufacturers.

 

We’ll look to you for:
During Tender Phase:
•    Perform Macro costing to assess the cost impact of various requirements and norms, manufacturer localization scenarios.
•    Perform Manufacturer offer analysis vs internal costing evaluation, identify gaps and opportunities, assess the risk level and the target price
•    Perform Micro costing by improving the cost maturity of the budgeted offers.
•    Collect and analyse data by cross checking the different offers and communicating the return of Experience
 

Project Phase:
•    Participate in design review: check and challenge solutions, propose cost optimization (raw material, processes, RDTC, etc.)
•    Perform costing simulation to assess products price level under the same conditions of the supplier’s proposals.
•    Compare different Manufacturer offers, assess, and negotiate the technical and commercial proposal of the manufacturer in line with the cost breakdown and according to the different cost factors.
•    Focus on cost optimisation, aiming to reduce components price through workshop with supplier sand/or engineering department (RDTC) in an ROI approach
•    Build catalog of existing solutions to improve efficiency of the department in case of urgent tender phase.

•    Engineering related degree
•    Excellent Excel skills (Pivot table, Macro, VBA)
•    Familiar with CATIA V5
•    Knowledge of the industrial processes (Electrical manufacturing)
•    Project and risk management knowledge
•    Costing knowledge (quotation, cost breakdown, RDTC using value analysis)
•    Fluent in English and French
•    Analytical skills, organized, rigorous and pro-active
•    Ability to facilitate multi function teams
•    Persuasive and capable to challenge the others
