Join us as an S&C and Infrastructure Instructor, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Toronto ,Ontario.

 

Under the direction of the Training Manager, this position will develop technician skills in troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance tasks on Signals & Communications and Infrastructure. The purpose of the position is to deliver these skills to new staff and refresh existing staff the skills required to maintain the various S&C and infrastructure systems equipment, and LRV systems and equipment. In addition, develop and deliver coaching plans for specific defects and failure trends. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 4 years of work experience in an LRT transit environment and has worked in various aspects of Signal & Communication. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Provide on the job training (OJT) to technicians in all aspects of the job.
  • Conducts formal classroom instruction.
  • Support and implement training sessions to improve skills, knowledge, and competencies of technicians. Recommend changes to training programs providing options for improvement and update documentation.
  • Monitors equipment failures or unsafe conditions and reviews those failures and unsafe conditions against the Maintenance Instructions to determine if there is a skill improvement required. Works closely with the Methods & QA Specialist to aid in skill development of employees.
  • Monitor new hire progression during their probationary period.

 

Key requirements:

 

  • Education required: Technical College / Institute, with training in electrical and / or mechanical engineering technologies, Millwright license would be considered an asset
  • Number of years of experience required, four (4) years .
  • Technical skills/knowledge : Maximo, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Publisher.
  • Excellent command of English writing and speaking skills required, technical writing skills.
