The GO Expansion scope :  new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

 

Objective

In support to the V&V Manager, manage the verification and validation process, manage EHS, Quality (e.g. CONQ i.e. Costs of Non-Quality, 4M ‘Man-Machine-Method-Material‘, On-Time), RSA (Railway Safety) while also overseeing team productivity, assessments and utilization reports and the projects on time delivery.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Support the V&V Manager in the definition and execution for all the V-cycle activities related with validation (Verification, Integration, Testing) to include the following:

  • Manage V&V project resources in the integration, verification, and validation of railroad Wayside Signaling and ATC Systems.
  • Implement V&V Rail Signalling solution for wayside and onboard systems; including data and documents verification, test means development and in-house tests; Integrate and Validate the system based on requirement test allocations.
  • Manage development of test means (test bench, recording tools, simulation) to allow the integration and validation of railroad signaling subsystems to emulate the operational environment and check the system behavior; provide V&V technical document.
  • Apply the Verification and Validation process along the project execution; track the progress on V&V activities; run the test sessions: Impact analysis, definition of the test scope, coordination of the execution of the test procedures, production of the test report and management of associated problems.
  • Perform the investigation detected on test bench and on-site tests; ensure that the system technically fulfils the defined needs and enhancements (change requests).
  • Provide test traceability requirements according to the requirements management plan (RMP).
  • Ensure technical consistency and alignment throughout the development, providing technical support.
  • Interact with other V&V Engineers and with other métier engineers to ensure the design fits into the intended architecture and provide evidence of this fulfillment.
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of the System Baselines, analysis and validation of Change Requests; and contribute to system configuration activities.
  • Plan, develop and manage V&V project resources to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Apply and deploy processes and method statement, development / maintenance of tools in support to Verification & Validation activities. Contribute to processes, methods and tools improvement by giving return of experience (REX) to V&V Methods & Tools
  • Coordinate and monitor Verification, Integration and Test activities and reports according to processes
  • Provide V&V quotation and bid documentation in line with the Bid’s strategy (including QCD targets) and DIS Strategy, Policies and Standards (including Local regulations and professional standards)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.  At least 8 years post graduate experience with design or testing of Railway Train Control/Signaling systems – Carborne & Wayside.  

 

Experience

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in supervising people, 2+ years working with Alstom Signaling products or equivalent.

  • Experience in test automation, 5+ years of software development and software test experience.

 

Skills

  • Experience in railroad systems based communication and the integration among the subsystems for wayside interlocking

  • Proven leadership and conflict resolution skills

  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Strong, organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Microsoft Office Experience

  • ATC experience is a plus
