This position under the direction of the Training Supervisor will develop Equipment Maintainers skills in the trouble shooting, unscheduled repairs, and schedule maintenance tasks. The purpose of this position is to teach new staff the skills to maintain the equipment, also when key defects or failure trends are noted specific coaching plans will be developed and delivered. The ideal candidate is one who has spent minimum 4 years in the work environment and has worked in various areas of the shop. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provides on the Job Training (OJT) to maintenance staff in all aspects of the job.
  • Conducts formal classroom instruction.
  • Support and implement training sessions to improve skills, knowledge and competencies of maintenance employees. Recommend changes to training programs providing options for improvement and update documentation.
  • Monitors equipment failures and reviews those failures against the Maintenance Instructions to determine if there a skill improvement required. Works closely with the Failure Supervisor and Analyst to aid in skill development of employees.
  • Monitor new hire progression during their probationary period.

 

REQUIRED PROFILE:

 

  • Education required:  Grade 12.
  • 4 years of experience preferred.
  • Electrical knowledge an asset.
  • Air conditioning an asset.
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Publisher.
  • Excellent command of English writing and speaking skills required.
  • Technical writing skills.
