As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion scope :  new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

 

Objective

The System Verification and Validation (V&V) will participate in System Verification and Validation team in testing our solutions. Mainly: 

  • Detail and perform all the in-house activities in the scope of the V&V team, and interface experts delegated in other departlments. Cooperate tighly with Test &Commissioning (T&C) to ensure seamless integration and alignment between in-hous and on-site testing activites and results/ Interface with design teams to share and details the results of the V&V activities. 

  • Agree with V&V Manager on strategy, scheduling and budget, and share progress, results and issues during execution

 

Essential Responsibilities 

Multi-disciplinary environment working with the design, engineering, and the commissioning. The key accountabilities are :

  • Contribute to the definition of the Project Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan, and act proactively for its implementation

  • Define verification methodology for selected deliverables, when requested from V&V strategy

  • Define test plans and test descriptions for in-house activities. Liaise with Project Commissionning Manager for exported tests

  • Perform and report on allocated verification, integration and test activities

  • When Safety is involved, share and justify the results with Safety Assurance Manager to feed safety demonstration

  • Interface with experts in other department to align on selected V&V activity methodology

  • Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of test progress, issues, risks and opportunities

  • Specify, procure, develop, setup and configure assets such as test benches and instrumentation

  • Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs

  • Provide valuable feedback for REX sessions and continuous improvement

  • Manage configuration and change management cycle related with V&V activities (simulation configuration, anomaly tracking, etc.)

  • Follow-up with T&C for tests exported to site execution

 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and course work or work experience in networking or telecommunication

  • 0-3 years experience

  • P. Eng certification or in progress

  • Good Analytical skill is requied

  • Understanding and experience in Software Coding
