Purpose of the Job

 

The Simulators Project Engineer will be responsible of the engineering activities needed for the delivery of the locomotives and signaling training simulators from design to handover within the GO Expansion Oncorr project.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible of the development of training simulators technical documentation: system specifications (Functional, architecture, interface) and drawings, testing and commissioning documents and follow up and review of supplier documents and progress
  • Obtain Customer/Engineer acceptance of training simulators technical documentation
  • Organize, in liaison with the project technical manager and project manager, the engineering activities (priorities, schedule, delivery)
  • Report to the project technical manager the progress of Engineering activities
  • Report to the project manager the progress of the Delivery and subcontractor activities
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities off shore and on shore
  • Provide the demonstration of compliance to the contractual requirements and their allocation to the relevant subsystem, and obtain customer/Engineer’s approval
  • Lead the verification and demonstration of system performances
  • Support the the technical discussion with the Customer/Engineer
  • Implement the Methods and Engineering tools applicable to the project
  • Participate in the technical risk management. Ensure that technical risks are adequately addressed in the system engineering studies

Educational requirements

 

University Degree in Engineering

Licensed with Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.) preferred

 

Qualifications

 

  • Technical Knowledge / Experience in delivery of electromechanical products, including software related, ideally with training simulators
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of the rail environment and engineering practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self motivated, detailed oriented ability to learn new techniques in a changing environment are desired. Knowledge of international standards
