The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

 

Objective

  • Develop in BIM environment the Mainline and Urban (M&U) Signaling Installation Engineering (IE) activities in support of one or several Bid/Projects, in close cooperation with the Engineering and Installation team
  • Provide guidance to the Sig BIM team ensuring delivery and quality of the documentation in compliance with M&U Signaling strategies
  • Ensure the application of EHS policies, local regulations, and professional standards

 

Responsibilities

  • Implement the project specific standards and the BIM Execution Plan
  • Support skills training for new hired BIM Modelers and Coordinators
  • Ensure the proper use and the update of BIM guidelines and processes throughout the design process
  • Ensure completeness, quality, maintenance, and usability of the Component Library
  • Ensure the technical understanding of the BIM Supplier Instruction by the Manufacturers (attend to coordination meeting with Supplier if required), and check the compliance of 3D Objects
  • Manage the tools used for design development and deliverables production, providing hardware and network support as it relates to design BIM design and production (troubleshoots, installation and setup problems)
  • Support the Sig BIM modelers in daily tasks of design development and in the production of the 2D and 3D deliverables, ensuring the compliance of the models with applicable BIM standards and Metièrs requirements
  • Enforce application of the model development schedule defined by the System BIM Manager and Project Engineering Manager
  • Supports BIM Manager (at System, Customer or Turnkey level) in deployment of the BIM solution at sub-system level (Signaling / Telecom / etc.) for the project, assisting the design development and checking the deliverables as part of the Coordination meetings
  • Ensure application of Digital & Integrated System Installation and Field Operations Process for IE activities
  • Continuous improvement:
    • Contribute to best practices definition and REX within the Product Line
    • Participate to Process / “Metier” improvement workgroup when requested, to propose update/improvement of the IE way of working, process, tools and RefLib
    • Report anomalies versus the reference library and / or the local standard and propose any improvement or evolution

 

Performance measurements

  • Keep up to date the list of BIM models and their status,
  • Contribute the enforcement of good practices within the design team,
  • Perform reporting of design development to the System BIM Manager and Region/Country Installation Engineering Manager

 

Education & Experience

High school Diploma or technical diploma or equivalent education

BIM and/or Autocad Certification

Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and ProjectWise preferred

3+ year's production experience in design, drafting or engineering (Project and/or construction experience appreciated)

Good knowledge of Railway products and services knowledge on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M)
