Alstom has an opening for an Project Architect, in its Jacksonville FL, Rochester NY, Melbourne FL Grain Valley MO, and  Toronto Canada offices.




Be a technical interface between products and the customer in order to provide fluidity in the implementation of the delivered system/project solution. The individual is accountable to define all design choices and propose the best customer oriented and cost-effective solution on large complex signaling project with multiple subsystems and interfaces.

  • Act as a technical interface between the Alstom product units and the Customer in order to provide fluidity in the implementation of the delivered project solution.
  • Accountable to define all design choices and propose the best solution at system level (Customer Oriented and Cost Effective).
  • Verify the gap analysis performed during tender phase at project launch
  • Present and defend Alstom solutions to customers.
  • Understand and communicate the customer user needs based on the RFP Requirements.
  • Clarify implicit or uncompleted requirements, organize technical meeting with Customer to present and get approval on the additional/rewritten requirements.
  • Analyze the development requested and support the Alstom product units to validate the cost-effective design for deployment and maintenance of the System.
  • Support Project Baselines Strategy, and check that the System Delivery Plan is consistent with the Project Strategy, alert and propose mitigation plan as necessary.
  • Facilitate (correspondence, meetings...) resolution of technical issues between the Alstom project solution and the Customer.  Be the central point of the Project for troubleshooting and root cause identification in all phases of the project.
  • Organize Design Reviews with appropriate parties for every new Design Choice.
  • Attend System Change Control Boards (CCB) in order to ensure that the implementation is aligned with the project solution.
  • Support V&V activities and Requirements Traceability.
  • Propose system and product evolutions according to Return on Experience captured on projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned



  • BS Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • At least 10 years of experience working on signaling projects as a sub-system or system engineer
  • 10 years’ experience in Rail Signaling industry
  • 10 years’ experience in System Engineering
  • 5 years’ or more experience with Cab Signal/Speed Code signaling solutions and Rolling Stock Environment desired
  • 5 years’ or more experience with Wayside Signaling and Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) solutions and Wayside/Trackside Environment preferred
