Could you be the full-time Project RAM and Safety Manager for Electrification in Toronto, ON we're looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in RAM and safety management to a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, innovative, and dedicated team of professionals.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) of the electrification scope for the Go Expansion project. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the business (design, procurement, installation, validation, and more), engage with stakeholders like customers, independent safety assessors, and safety authorities, and proactively manage railway safety risks throughout all project phases.

You’ll specifically take care of performing RAMS analyses for the electrification scope, including 25kV traction power and overhead contact systems, but also ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements as well as Alstom’s Railway Safety Policy.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Delivering RAMS activities for the Toronto Go Transit corridors’ electrification scope, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule commitments are met.

  • Planning and producing RAMS deliverables to achieve project milestones.

  • Fostering acceptance of RAMS deliverables by customers, independent safety assessors, and safety authorities.

  • Establishing and following the safety strategy for the electrification system and engaging with stakeholders.

  • Supporting internal teams in defining and implementing measures to meet RAMS requirements.

  • Collaborating with interfacing systems and disciplines through interface analysis and workshops.

  • Providing proactive design assessments to identify and mitigate railway safety risks.

  • Planning and executing safety and RAM activities throughout the system lifecycle, including the development of safety cases for migration stages and revenue service.

  • A university degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a strong foundation in electrical and electronic systems.

  • A minimum of 5 years of successful experience in RAM/Safety Management, preferably within the railway industry, or in sectors like aerospace, defense, space, military, nuclear, or chemical industries.

  • Significant experience in electrical and/or electromechanical engineering, especially in areas such as railway AC or DC traction power systems, catenary systems, substations, high-voltage transmission systems, grounding, and bonding.

  • Knowledge of CENELEC standards, including EN 50126, EN 50562, and EN 50122.

  • Fluency in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A structured and organized approach, with a strong sense of priorities and a hands-on mindset.

  • A proactive and analytical approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $90,000 – $125,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
