As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.
Objective
- Plan and execute Signaling Onboard/Carborne Installation in close cooperation with the Project Field Ops Manager, the Installation Engineering and Site contractors.
- Possess accountability at Project level, from a Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance Points of view for the scope.
- Ensure the application of Environment, Health and Safety policies, local regulations, and professional standard.
Responsibilities
- Prepare installation work and confirm readiness of installation execution (Readiness checklist)
- Train and support the Installation Workers and Sub-contractors on the working fronts under his/her responsibility, clarifying doubts and task priorities
- Supervise execution of Installation – onboard/carborne-, independently if performed by Alstom workers, Sub-contractors, or Customer / Partner / Third Party
- Ensure compliance of Installation activities with D&IS Installation and FO Process
- Carborne-Apply the Work Method Statement (WMS) / Installation procedures according design documentation, report on any deviation found or needed.
- Make sure the EHS requirements and special processes are clearly included in the WMS
- Report to the Project Installation Manager/Site Ops Manager /Project Field Ops Manager the field activities progress and any issue or founding in the execution, including non-conformities to communicate to Quality team
- Ensure the activities are carried out as per schedule, within the productivity required, in line with the quality standards
- Ensure and support the Handover process to Test &Commissioning team / Customer
- Continuous improvement:
- Contribute to best practices definition and Return of Experience within the Product Line
- Ensure the strictly application of EHS rules by the installation workers (including Sub-contractors)
Educational/Experience Requirements
- Engineering degree level or equivalent education with 10 years of Railway Signaling Industry experience
- 3-5y experience in Railway Signaling Onboard/Carbone
- Certification on Railway Safety desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Quality focused, rigorous, team player
- Decision-making and problem-solving ability
