Objective:

  •  Support the Project Contract Managers and Contract Management team in the search for contractual documents, preparation of files related to the contract execution in order to protect ALSTOM's interests and mitigate risks to the greatest extent possible
  • Ensure contractual coordination with the various Contract Managers, analyse all incoming correspondence and prepare and/or review all outgoing correspondence
  • Prepare monthly reports and Minutes of Meetings
  • Monitor issues and recognize potential issues at an early stage, maintain a logbook and records to ensure that problems, delays, changes and other events related to the project performance are promptly identified, recorded and documented. Direct periodic reviews and coordinate actions.
  • In collaboration with the Contract Managers, prepare and build the file (contractual/legal facts and basis) necessary for negotiations for variation orders and claims
  • Monitor and update the CRDLs, correspondence registers for the Contract Managers
  • Any other activity that may be required by the Contract Management team
  • Must be able to travel within Canada

 

Education

  • University Degree and experience in Law or Engineering 
  • Master's Degree preferred but not mandatory if relevant experience is possessed

 

 Experience & Skills

  • First experience in a law firm or in a company, and knowledge of contracts
  • Be rigorous, proactive and motivated
  • Have good interpersonal skills and open mind
  • Fluency in French and English is essential
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in French and in English
  • Ability to speak effectively in front of groups of customers or employees
