Could you be the full-time Buyer in Toronto we’re looking for?
Your future role:
Take on a new challenge and apply your Procurement expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to our Procurement Project Manager in Toronto, ON, and work alongside strong analytical and collaborative teammates.
You'll develop and implement the Procurement strategy to ensure optimal cost productivity. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business such as Engineering, Project, Bid and Technical Managers as well as with many different stakeholders in order to prepare tender Procurement commitment, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of collect and formalize Return of Experience on projects deployed in the region, but also you will challenge commodity buyers and managers to increase competitiveness and ensure convergence of commodity strategies with Tender.
We’ll look to you for:

- Managing procurement activities during the tender phase, ensuring adherence to Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (QCDP) commitments.
- Leading supplier engagement and negotiation of pre‑bid agreements when they create a competitive advantage for the Project
- Collaborating with Engineering teams to support “DesigntoCost” initiatives
- Compiling, validating, and updating procurement cost commitments for tender submissions, including supplier quotation analysis, firming, and risk assessment.
- Preparing accurate, competitive, and timely tender cost packages, ensuring alignment with internal procurement strategies and market conditions.
- Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies, ethical sourcing practices, and contractual requirements during tender activities.
- Coordinating with Quality, and Project Teams to confirm supplier readiness.
- Set up full supplier selection process, create supplier Contract and manage Contract execution
- Prepare and launch of Request for Quotation with suppliers
- Lead project negotiation
- Monitor Procurement project QCDT & legal project evolution (FAI, Business Award, Product development)
- Ensure work package sheet commitment respect
- Prepare Business Award
- Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
- Manage Contracting activities
- Manage Supplier Contract execution and coordinate project with all métiers
- Ensure the on-time delivery and quality are secured especially during the ramp-up phase of the project
- Support commodity strategy
- Consolidate the commodity needs, inputs
- Participate actively to commodity strategy and panel elaboration
- Provide imputes to build differentiation
- Support of Commodity Manager in tender phase
- Represent the commodities towards projects, platforms and solutions.
- Ensure effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
- Apply the Alstom Procurement process and provide return on experience.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing or a related field
- Proven Experience and understanding of Procurement Process
- Previous Alstom’s experience will be considered as an asset
- Strong knowledge of electronics and N&T materials and equipment, SCADA, and metallic parts, electro-mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Excel
- A second language is preferred
