Purpose of the Job

Maintain and troubleshoot the assets on the guideway of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) line (track and overhead catenary system) in line with specified Maintenance and Quality procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ice & snow clearance operations.
  • Drive/operate and manage the various non-revenue vehicles and equipment as/when required.
  • Carry out work in accordance with the company’s Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures,  
  • As well as applicable legislation.        
  • Carry out all levels of examination and work involving equipment/working manuals.     
  • Undertake other duties related to the environment of the assets or of work as specified by the Team leaders in a safe manner.                       
  • In case of accident or major failure, to participate in rescue/corrective operations.
  • Supervise and/or follow any subcontractor activities. 
  • Adhere to company procedures with respect to Quality.
  • Attend regular team/safety briefings.
  • Read reports and manuals as/when required.
  • Report all accidents/incidents.                                                                                                        
  • Respect, clean and maintain their work environment. 
  • Work/collaborate with various personnel in case of emergency or extreme weather (snow/ice) in order to maintain the rail line’s operation.
  • Report activities (work orders / inspections) through a Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) and tabs.
  • Work nights and weekends.

 

Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

 

     Educational Requirements 

 

  • Rail/track environment knowledge
  • Working on powered equipment in a safe and controlled manner

     

Desirable:

  • Basic knowledge of the (Overhead) Catenary system
  • Basic electrical knowledge
