Could you be the full-time Network Security Intern in Toronto, ON, we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your network and cybersecurity knowledge in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada's busiest public transit system by contributing to the On-Corridor Works project as part of the ONxpress consortium. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including network security design and engineering, assist the Lead System Designer, and support the commissioning of integrated radio and TCP/IP networks.

You’ll specifically support the Network and Telecom design team in designing, deploying and validating network and telecom network & security solutions.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Understanding and interpreting network and cybersecurity requirements aligned with standards and regulations

  • Assisting the Lead System Designer and working as part of the Network team

  • Reviewing cybersecurity risk assessments and contributing to mitigation strategies

  • Performing Network Security Engineering tasks to meet program objectives

  • Documenting technical data in accordance with engineering policies and procedures

  • Supporting the set-up and management of firewalls, VPN, and IPsec configurations

  • Participating in installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Networking, Telecommunications, or Cybersecurity

  • Preferred related academic courses in networking and cybersecurity

  • Hands-on basic experience with firewalls and Active Directory for networks

  • Familiarity with network security and access policies, cybersecurity principles, technologies, and solutions

  • Understanding of IPsec, ciphers, GPO, central authentications, antivirus solutions, and IDS

  • Basic knowledge of monitoring tools and cybersecurity platforms

  • Knowledge of virtualization concepts

  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy

  • Knowledge of the railway industry is a plus
