Could you be the full-time OnBoard Installation Method Designer in Toronto, ON, we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical and mechanical design expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside supportive and innovative teammates.

You'll play a vital role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada’s busiest public transit system by contributing to the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area’s (GTHA) On-Corridor Works project. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including the Installation Manager, Site Operations Manager, and Field Operation Manager), prepare and execute installation engineering activities, and ensure quality and compliance with our strategies and standards.

You’ll specifically take care of preparing installation material specifications and Installation procedure (Work Instructions), but also support field teams during the preparation of field quality dossiers for handover.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Prepare and execute IE activities (drawings, documentation, specifications, Installation Procedures, etc.)
  • Prepare Installation material specifications, Installation BoQ, worksite layout, tool & equipment control, task sequence, standard time definition, kitting & kanban systems
  • Ensure the deliverables are prepared in accordance with the project execution requirements: customer, installation subcontractor, local regulation, etc.
  • Support the Field Team (Installation supervisors, Sig Project Site Managers, Sig Installation Team Leaders, etc.) to understand, review the deliverables, and prepare design modification or change requests following inputs from site
  • Ensure EHS & LoTo requirements are incorporated in the installation processes and activities
  • Support the Installation Methods Manager, Project Installation Manager, Installation Engineering Leader, Field Operations Manager during the preparation and implementation of the Installation Management Plan
  • Prepare as-built documentation and ensures conformity with as-installed configuration
  • Support site surveys as needed
  • Ensure application of D&IS Installation and Field Operations Process for IE activities
  • Foster continuous improvement & lean operations, contribute to digitalization & automation efforts
  • Contribute to best practice definition and REX within the Product Line
  • Take part in Process/”Metier” improvement workgroup when requested, to propose update/improvement of the IE way of working, standards, processes & tools


All about you

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in electrical or/and mechanical design or specialisation or oriented in systems of production/methods/industrial processes

  • P. Eng certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of railways is an asset
  • Knowledge of E3S is an asset
  • Knowledge of INVENTOR/CATIA is an asset
  • Communication & writing skills: clarity, rigor, and concision
  • 5+ years of experience in design, drafting, or engineering (Installation or Manufacturing experience is appreciated).

  • Background in EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety).

  • Quality-focused, resilient, and a team player with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

  • An innovative mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
