Could you be the full-time Installation Engineering Designer in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your design and engineering expertise in a transformative and cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and innovative team of professionals.
You'll play a central role in supporting the engineering studies and installation design efforts for one of Canada’s busiest public transit systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including engineering disciplines, BIM teams, and project stakeholders, to ensure design consistency and constructability, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of preparing and maintaining installation design documentation, such as Bills of Installation Materials (BOM), installation drawings, and configuration records, but also contribute to progress reporting, resource planning, and quality assurance activities.
We’ll look to you for:

Supporting engineering studies, including Bills of Installation Materials (BOM), quantity take-offs, method statements, and installation material specifications.

Coordinating with various engineering disciplines to consolidate inputs for installation design deliverables.

Tracking design activities and preparing weekly and monthly progress reports, including action plans and performance metrics.

Developing and maintaining KPI reports for the Installation Design Department.

Preparing and maintaining installation design documentation, including method statements, red-line and yellow-line markups, and site drawing records.

Managing punch lists and ensuring timely closure of outstanding items.

Creating and modifying 2D drawings using AutoCAD and other approved design tools.

Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary design teams.

Engineering degree.

Certified in AutoCAD and/or other design tools is desirable.

P.Eng certification in progress is an asset.

0-3 years of experience in design, design coordination, drafting, or engineering.

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Quality-focused and a strong team player.

Basic knowledge of the railway industry is an asset.

Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is $70,000 – $80,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
