The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.
Objective
For this project, we are looking for a Deputy System Deployment & Integration Manager (SDIM) in order to lead the System Engineering team with specific ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) skills.
In close collaboration with the SDIM and the Project Manager, you have End to End accountability at system level of QCD and Performance:
- from requirement analysis and allocation (for all contractual requirements) up to global system acceptance by Customer (including T&C and certification / homologation)
- ensuring the management of configuration (as-designed, as-built, as-installed including retrofit management),
- ensuring integration of the various sub-systems, and coordinating system activities until project final acceptance
Responsibilities
- Manage the technical contractual scope of the project in front of the customer (in support of the SDIM)
- Be accountable for performance and the customer acceptance of the project solution
- Manage the project technical risks and the corresponding mitigation plan
- Together with the Project Manager, in case of contractual scope evolution, raise variation order and manage it
- Identify which are the applicable regulations and ensure they are taken into account in project solution design
- Ensure that all the requirements of the contract are fully addressed throughout the project lifecycle, from the capture stage up to the demonstration
- Lead the project solution deployment and ensure operational coordination of all project activities related to System deployment and integration (in support of the SDIM)
- Define the Engineering Strategy, formalize it inside the System Engineering Management Plan (SyEMP) and ensure its deployment
- Act as a chairman of Project Change Control Board (CCB)
- Be accountable SDIM Work Packages QCDP, ensuring application of safety and cybersecurity principles
- Provide all technical documents to the project core team members for the industrialisation, sourcing, installation, test and commissioning (product BOQ, architecture schematics, etc.)
- Be accountable for project documentation approval by customer, and support sub-system managers and engineering leaders for sub-system documentation approval
- Is accountable for
- System architecture and design
- Interfaces between the sub-systems (in the frame of his/her scope of work)
- Interfaces with 3rd Parties (in the frame of their scope of work), such as, for example, ISA, NoBo, Frequency Allocation agency, facilities providers, Civil Work partners, Rolling Stock manufacturer, etc.
- Validation & Commissioning: Verification & Validation and T&C activities
- Integration activities
- Configuration and change management (as-designed, as-built, as-installed including retrofit management)
- Development of specific integration equipment if necessary
- Certification & authorisations
- Safety case delivery & assessment (including exported constraints accepted by customer)
- Cybersecurity case delivery & assessment
- Project requirements (not limited to technical requirement) analysis, allocation and compliance demonstration,
- Coordination of activities necessary to obtain Project Provisional Acceptance and Project Final Acceptance
- Coordinate the engineering team and manage interfaces (in support of the SDIM)
- Allocate Task(s) across Project Engineering team and ensure engineering activities follow-up
- Together with Domain / Metier Leaders and site Project Engineering Metier / Domain Department Heads, define the project engineering team organization according to the project phase (and as defined in the EMP)
- Manage and participate in the evaluation of the project engineering team
- Share Environment, Health and Security (EHS) rules with project engineering team (receiving inputs from PM/Project EHS Manager/Coordinator or RC EHS Manager)
- Provide support to the Project Technical Manager on execution of technical activities onshore when applicable. In case where the Design Leading Unit is close to the customer, SDIM and PTM roles are merged
- During project warranty, coordinate actions to support resolution of pending technical issues following Project Warranty Manager (PrWM) requirements, including RAM data analysis for Reliability Growth
- Support PrQSM to consolidate the REX of the Project and DFQ process
- Support site Project Engineering Domain/Metiers Department Head to define/perform knowledge capitalization
- Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct
For on-board projects, SDIM accountabilities also include First of Class (FOC), industrial, procurement and logistics activities – and excludes Serie T&C activities.
Performance measurements
- SDIM Work package QCDP (quality, cost, delivery and performance), including DFQ go on-time and EDP
- Project documentation approval completion and Design Freeze with Customer
- Project requirement database maturity (full coverage of requirements and customer acceptance)
- Availability of project configuration (as-designed, as-built, as-installed including retrofit management) for handover to Maintenance and Operations entities
- Engineering management plan application
Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or scientific subjects
- Desirable: Master in Business Administration and/or Master in Project Management
- P. Eng certification or in progress
Experience Requirements

Engineering background including project deployment full lifecycle view until commissionning
