The candidate will be responsible for preparing, leading and managing all costing aspects of a tender within the tender team and support local Bid manager activities.

  • Support analysis of top level requirement capture, support choice of product Reference Library and produce first cost estimate with high level gap analysis(quick estimate) for GO/NO GO decision
  • Lead cost estimation activities based on costing by gap approach (including costing of identified risks & savings) with all participating units
  • Support detailed requirement capture, definition of cost drivers, identification of delta vs reference, definition of gaps / options to be costed and setting of targets for gaps
  • Define the target cost for the relevant sub-systems (when not catalogue) and analyze the target price defined by Product & Strategy
  • Is the point of contact for Department Heads and Participating Units for costing activities during the tender and negotiation phase
  • Co-ordinate gathering of gap cost information, consolidate cost inputs into the ‘C’ commitment and secure validation from the concerned stakeholders
  • Prepare the Cost & Pricing forms to comply with ALSTOM approval process, e-project connectors and client submittal formats
  • Lead cost estimation activities for changes discussed with the customer during negotiation and update the cost commitment
  • Support hand-over of cost commitment to project phase (Tender Transfer Meeting) :
  • Ensure this step is done without impact on overall cost commitment
  • Support the Signalling BID Manager during proposal development, being the interface with the local team in Toronto and in the following activities:
    • Identify, analyze and register the risks and saving opportunities
    • Ensure that Transport and Signaling Bid Processes are followed
    • Control  tender budget and make sure it is respected



  • Degree in Engineering or in a business-related field and/or an Associate Degree in finance
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in project or bid cost management/reporting
  • Experience with Mercury and Primavera tools, or other similar cost consolidation and scheduling tools
  • Project management and project controlling knowledge
