Could you be the full-time DCI (Data Center Infrastructure) Architect in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a vital role in translating system-level and customer requirements into clear, testable DCI subsystem requirements and architectures. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with system engineers, DCI engineers, project managers, and customers to ensure the DCI subsystem is correctly specified, traceable, and verifiable as part of the overall solution we deliver. You’ll also lead technical workshops, clarify assumptions, and manage risks and issues.

You’ll specifically take care of defining and documenting DCI architecture and design, including virtualization platforms, OS platform standards, database platforms, network topology, and storage architecture, but also ensure compliance with internal standards and industry/security requirements.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Translating system-level and customer requirements into DCI subsystem requirements, acceptance criteria, and design constraints

  • Owning requirements engineering for DCI, including capture, decomposition, allocation, traceability, and change control

  • Defining and documenting DCI architecture and design, including virtualization, OS platforms, databases, networking, and storage

  • Producing and maintaining key subsystem deliverables, such as Subsystem Requirements Specifications and Interface Control Documents

  • Leading technical workshops with system engineering and stakeholders

  • Managing technical risks and issues, and coordinating with vendors and partners as needed

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Demonstrated experience translating system-level requirements into subsystem requirements and architectures with full traceability

  • Strong grasp of virtualization and platform design (e.g., VMware vSphere, SUSE Harvester)

  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration patterns/standards

  • Experience with MS SQL Server deployment patterns, backup/restore, and HA/DR options

  • Solid understanding of physical and virtual networking (e.g., VLANs, routing, segmentation, firewalls, load balancing)

  • Proven ability to define non-functional requirements and turn them into concrete designs

  • Familiarity with requirements management tools and modeling/diagramming tools (e.g., SysML, Enterprise Architect, Visio)

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
