Job Title :  Concessions Finance Associate 

 

Support and assist the Concessions Director in PPP project financing/ equity investments/ rail infrastructure development for all financing aspects of the structuring of PPP project pursuits/bids in North America from project origination and all project phases (Pre-RFQ/RFQ/RFP/Financial Close), with the ultimate objective to secure fully committed financing for PPP bids to be submitted on time and as requested in the customers’ RFP, on as competitive a basis as is possible while adhering to the internal governance requirements of all the parties including Alstom golden rules.

 

Main Responsibilities:

- Support and assist in review and preparation of the financial component of PPP bids in collaboration with consortium partners (i.e., business plan, contractual comments, financing scheme)

- Support and assist in preparation and submission of all financial deliverables and internal reporting/approvals required during each phase of the project bid (RFQ, RFP, Preferred Proponent to Financial Close)

- Develop analysis of equity providers, debt providers with a comparative study that are matching the Alstom golden rules and ethic & compliance rules

- Support in the analysis to develop an optimal commercial and financial structure for the Project as it pertains to the financing / bid strategy and risk profile of the Project

- Coordination of the external advisors/parties linked to the Consortium Finance Workgroup, Interface with Tender Control and Corporate Risk Management and other support functions internally and externally

- Coordination of due diligence process and the interaction with potential funders/lenders, investors and/or underwriters

- Review and analyze the Project documents and Financing documents

- Review and analyze the main elements of the financial package and consortium agreements (e.g., Construction, O&M, Interface, security package, etc.), while remaining within Alstom golden rules.

- Support in building, structuring, analyzing and optimizing the financial model in collaboration with our Financial Advisor.

- Prepare true and detailed comments/summaries/reports for all financial aspects of the project pursuit/bid to reporting line.

 

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

Mandatory:

- Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering

- 2-3 years of experience in Project Finance

- Any previous experience in the PPP business is required, which can include (but not limited to) industrials, developers, construction companies, advisors, lenders, equity investors

- Some knowledge of contractual, financial and legal aspects of a PPP project

- Strong academic background

- Fluent in English

 

Desirable: Experience in PPP project finance / development in the railway sector, or other PPP sectors (e.g., social, transportation, etc.) for global infrastructure projects

 

Competencies & Skills:

- Understanding complex contractual organization and the financial objective to be achieved for closing PPP projects

- Experience in standard PPP project finance documentation including advisory and arranging mandates, project finance term sheet, equity investment letters, subcontract heads of terms agreements/contracts, other consortium and project agreements

- Familiar with finance related project due diligence including Lender Technical Advisor, tax and accounting, model auditor due diligence

- Financial modeling in Microsoft Excel, including understanding and building models, analyzing and working on complex models produced by financial advisors

- Team oriented self-starter with ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting tight deadlines

- Strong coordination skills, analytical skills and attention to detail
