Key Accountabilities:

  • Put in place the appropriate contract management tools and processes, in particular regarding correspondences, notifications, insurances, EOT claims, and variation requests / orders and claims preparation files.
  • Carefully analyzes the contract to build and drive implementation of Contract Management Strategy Plans and Contract Management Days are implemented in due time as well as keep it updated with project team on quarterly basis.
  • Coordinate and animate the Project Contract Management Team including Key Suppliers CM.
  • Anticipate events and risks and propose various alternative proactive solutions in furtherance of Alstom’s business and project objectives.
  • Define claim strategies with the Project Director and/or Canada Head of Contract Management
  • Ensure that all the Product Lines within the Project perform correct/accurate risk assessments, including supporting the Project Core Team Members in establishing and quantifying the project’s .
  • Contributes to CDRL by the Project Team members is launched in time, is accurately communicated, and updated. 
  • Monitors Works toward contract obligations, including monitoring of project schedule toward achieving contractual milestones.
  • Ensures timely issuance of contractual notices to customers/partners.
  • Reporting on claim status and strategies to Head of Contract Management.
  • Lead and support the Project Contract Management Team in the Project in executing proactive contract management.
  • Support delay analysis in EOT claims.
  • Assist Finance in the presentation of costs within claims.
  • Liaise with Key Suppliers CMs for development of pass-through claims from suppliers to customers/partners.
  • Drive claim preparation, claim strategies and claim roadmaps to protect the project
  • Ensure that PrCM, KSCM and PrCA together with Project Team implement tools for the reliable filing and easy access of the incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Responsible to provide support to the Project Management team in identifying any potential risks that may impact the project or profitability of the company, including to assess threats and put plans in place to avoid, reduce or transfer risks as appropriate.
  • Drive identification and preparation of offensive and/or defensive claims for the Project.
  • Responsible for the implementation and achievement of the Project’s contract management and claims strategies, including claims’ KPIs
  • Responsible to consolidate appropriate reporting of contract and claim management activities
  • Ensure timely and reliable Contract Management reporting including KPI
  • Ensures Contract management KPIS are reported as per reporting deadlines including gathering the inputs from Key supplier Contract Managers and Insurance Managers
  • Provides training on contract/claim management to key project stakeholders, including project management, finance, engineering, and sourcing communities.

  • Identify critical tasks & issues and takes action to prioritize, deliver and follow-up of mitigation/remedy plans.

  • Delegates, provides encouragement and support to people in accepting responsibility with accountability


Educational Requirements


A degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics or business sciences


Postgrad in Management or Master of Business Administration (MBA)



  • Must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience working in infrastructure project in a contract management / project legal / project management/ project finance role.
  • Experience in industrial sectors, preferably in the railway business, in oil & gas or other construction-related fields
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.  Fluency in second language (e.g., French) a plus.  Professional certification in Contract Management, also a plus
  • Local customer experience
