The scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

 

Purpose of the Job

The role of the 3rd Party Interfaces Engineer will be to define and manage the interfaces with parties external to ONXpress Entities

 

Responsibilities

  • Define the System Interfaces relevant to 3rd parties : interface identification, interface register
  • Define the System Interface Control Documents (ICD), propose the Leader of the interface, liaise with Subsystems to ensure the production and agreement of the ICD
  • Ensure interface consistency and completeness by reviewing designs and actively participating in requirements management process
  • Manage the detailed interfaces definition relevant to 3rd Parties
  • Identify risks, scope gaps and grey areas and escalate as needed

 

Educational requirements

University Degree in Engineering

Licensed with Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.) or in progress

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four-five years of experience in Interface Engineering
  • Field experience and a good knowledge of railway Communications systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of the rail construction environment and engineering practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self motivated, detailed oriented ability to learn new techniques in a changing environment are desired.
