Experienced Test Train & RRV driver

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Tel Aviv Green Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) is a major mass-transit infrastructure project developed by NTA - Metropolitan Mass Transit System Ltd. It will extend over approximately 39 km, connecting Rishon LeZion and Holon in the south, crossing central Tel Aviv, and reaching Herzliya in the north.
Alstom is starting dynamic testing of the Green Line project and is seeking an Experienced Test Train, RRV & Shunting Vehicle Driver to drive test trains, road-rail vehicles and shunting vehicles in zones controlled by the Temporary Operation team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strictly follows Temporary Operation rules in zones controlled by the Temporary Operating Entity.
• Drives test trains for testing and commissioning activities.
• Drives and operates RRV (Road-Rail Vehicles) and shunting vehicles for test, shunting, rescue and recovery activities, subject to the applicable type and project authorization.
• Trains and assesses T&C train, RRV and shunting-vehicle drivers only when separately qualified and authorized to do so.
• Performs line sweeps when required before energization or train movement.
• May operate non-traction line equipment, such as Platform Screen Doors or switch machines, when trained and authorized.
• Informs the OCC operator of potential risks detected on site, such as a displaced barrier, open door or unauthorized excavation.
• Performs other duties assigned by the Temporary Operations Manager.

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Educational and Licence Requirements

Mandatory:

Technical Diploma.

Certified LRV driver in Israel, (1000 hours)

Road Driving Licence B.

Desirable - not mandatory:

Instructor / Madrich authorization under the Israeli Local Railway Operation Regulations.

Examiner / Driver Examiner (Bohen), or company Competence Assessor where applicable. The 5,000-hour threshold applies to the statutory Examiner qualification and is not a requirement for this Driver position.

Road Driving Licence C, when relevant to the RRV type and its public-road use.

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Experience

Mandatory:

Good knowledge of the Light Rail environment.

Environment, health and safety on construction sites.

Desirable:

Experience in the operation or commissioning of rail transport lines, including RRV and/or shunting vehicles.

 Competencies & Skills

• Able to strictly follow instructions; no unauthorized deviation is permitted.
• Able to manage pressure and make safe operational decisions.
• Able to understand standards, requirements and the operational environment.
• Able to manage incidents and implement recovery measures within the role's authorization.
• Able to train and assess LRV, RRV and shunting-vehicle drivers when separately qualified and authorized.
• Team spirit, communication and listening skills.
• Professional English and Hebrew.
• Rigorous and well organized.
