Your future role:

 

Alstom is seeking a highly capable Services Director to lead our Services strategy and operations across New South Wales and Western Australia. Based at our North Sydney office, this leadership role carries full operational accountabilities for all Services activities in NSW and WA, reporting directly to the ANZ Services Director. As a key member of the Services Leadership Team, you will drive the advancement of sustainable rail services in Australia, delivering exceptional project execution, deepening customer partnerships, and accelerating business growth within a global leader in mobility solutions.

 

You will: 

 

  • Define and execute the Services strategy and vision for NSW and WA, providing strategic leadership across all Services tenders and ensuring the successful delivery of the project operations.
  • Take full ownership of operations and delivery, holding accountability for Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance across all Services projects, optimising financial outcomes, implementing robust governance, developing Project Management Plans, and aligning sub-system objectives.
  • Actively participate in project reviews and maintain strong portfolio governance and oversight.
  • Act as the primary interface for the portfolio, maintaining rigorous contractual alignment, managing contracts and variations effectively, and proactively fulfilling customer obligations.
  • Support regional business development by actively participating in industry fairs, exhibitions, and promotional activities to drive growth and enhance the Alstom brand.
  • Provide specialist tender support, collaborating with Regional Bid Management and Services APAC teams to contribute expertise to tender processes as required.
  • Inspire and lead a multi-site workforce, fostering high employee engagement, building capability through training and coaching, and cultivating a high-performance Services culture.
  • Establish standardised methods, tools and processes for Services execution while ensuring full compliance with legal, EHS and Railway Safety requirements.
    Contribute to the Services Leadership and APAC Services Management Teams, partnering closely with central Services functions and other business areas to achieve integrated project success, continuous process improvement, R&D tool advancement and strategic priorities.

 

About you:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications are essential, together with extensive experience in rolling stock maintenance or an adjacent industry.
  • Proven operational leadership in a large-scale industrial environment, ideally with prior experience in a comparable senior Services or project delivery leadership role.
  • Significant exposure to sourcing and procurement, combined with a deep understanding of the Australian rail market.
  • Advanced project management expertise, including comprehensive knowledge of railway products, systems and site/construction management processes.
  • Outstanding leadership with a commercial, results-oriented mindset; proven ability to inspire and align multi-site, cross-functional teams while effectively managing complexity, conflict and crisis.
  • Strong capabilities in customer relationship management, negotiation, communication, and thriving in politically sensitive or matrixed environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between NSW and WA.
