We have a unique opportunity available to join our growing Legal and Contract Management team, as a Senior Legal Counsel. In this role, you will be involved in both front-end and back-end legal work across Alstom’s portfolio of exciting transport projects. You will have the ability to based anywhere in Australia, however you will be required to travel on occasion. Your key responsibilities will include;

 

  • Prepare, review and negotiate contracts, or other legal documents with an acceptable level of risks                
  • Support the business in all legal and contractual matters including claim management, dispute settlement                                     
  • Contractual and legal evaluation of tender documents
  • Support the business on litigation, arbitration or other dispute matters                                                                                  
  • Handling of corporate law matters                
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required Includes:

 

  • Relevant law degree
  • Previous experience as a Lawyer (either in-house or from a law firm) within the infrastructure or engineering or building space
  • Familiarity with public tenders and international delivery models
  • Responsiveness, and a willingness to take initiative and responsibility
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels both within and external to the organization
