Could you be the International Mobility Coordinator based in our North Ryde, Sydney or Melbourne, CBD office that we're looking for?

 

Your future role:

 

Alstom has an opening for an International Mobility Coordinator to join the HR team in a 12-month fixed contract role. Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, you be accountable for managing individual employee mobility to the Australia and New Zealand region. With your in-depth knowledge and expertise in this area, you will provide oversight of assignment process from beginning to the end with home and local HR communities, support home and host HR in specific country or individual situations as well as leading/participating in transversal projects within the department.

 
We’ll look to you for:

 

 

  • Managing individual files from when employee is identified for mobility through to arrival in country
  • Providing data / cost estimation to managers and HR before an expatriation
  • Organising and participate in briefing calls with the employee, managers and HR for international permanent transfer and short/long-term mission transfers
  • Presenting packages / contracts to international permanent transfer and short mission employees including hypothetical taxes
  • Organising the registration of the expatriates for local plans 
  • Coordinate the relocation, immigration and tax processes with external vendors in coordination with host HR
  • Preparing tri-party agreements for international permanent transfers 
  • Providing guidance to managers and HR on international mobility topics
  • With Sourcing team, participating in the review of external suppliers to ensure service and value for money to the business
  • Managing external tax advisors to ensure information required for payroll is received within the required timeframes
  • Working with Payroll and Finance to ensure information required for tax compliance is provided in a timely manner
  • Monitoring visa expiry dates, visa quota etc as well as ensuring required systems and records are up to date 
  • Developing expat guide to provide information on Australia and New Zealand, the company, local operations etc. to provide helpful information for new arrivals in Country
  • Monitoring local market conditions and provide suggestions on changes/improvements to international mobility practices
     

All about you:

 

  • Prior experience as HR Generalist is desired
  • Proven expatriate management experience within a multinational organisation  
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Sound influencing and negotiation skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including tact and diplomacy with the ability to interact with a broad range of individuals operating at different levels
  • People oriented and ability to deal with cultural differences  
  • Proven ability to work productively both independently and as an integral member of various teams
  • Highly dedicated with a positive attitude, self-motivated, a team player who takes initiative
  • Able to attend calls to accommodate different time zones
