Alstom is seeking an HR Operations Manager for a 24-month fixed-term contract, based in our North Sydney or Melbourne CBD office. Reporting to the HR Director, ANZ, you will oversee HR operations across Australia and NZ, collaborating with the Global HR Operations team to drive efficiency, ensure compliance, and deliver exceptional service.
Your future role:
Alstom is seeking a HR Operations Manager for a 24-month fixed term contract based in our North Sydney or Melbourne CBD offices. Reporting to the HR Director, ANZ you will oversee HR operations across Australia, collaborating with the Global HR Operations team to drive efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.
As the HR Operations Manager, you will:
- Act as the in-country liaison for HR operations, managing payroll, HR administration, reporting, employee benefits, and international mobility to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Define and implement change management strategies, leveraging LEAN methodology, to ensure successful deployment of the HR delivery model and alignment with Global HR Operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and scope to deliver optimal service at the best cost.
- Lead the HR operations team, ensuring accurate maintenance of HRIS, payroll data, and HR SharePoint while supporting the broader HR team to achieve high service levels.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors (e.g., international mobility and benefits providers) to secure high-quality service and maintain internal customer satisfaction.
- Review and update country-specific HR policies to ensure market equity and lead process and tools improvement projects.
- Oversee the company vehicle fleet management and enhance the efficiency of the country HR community by identifying service delivery improvements.
- Monitor metrics, processes, and initiatives focused on quality, delivery, and cost optimisation to achieve operational excellence.
All about you:
- Tertiary qualification in human resources management or related field.
- Extensive experience in HR operations, management and leadership of teams.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, HRIS, and tools, with proven ability to lead process and tools improvement projects.
- In-depth experience in international mobility and demonstrated change management expertise, including LEAN methodology.
- Familiarity with compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures.
- Previous experience in a large multinational organisation.
- Ability to drive operational excellence and ensure compliance with local and internal requirements.
