Your Future Role:
Alstom is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director, ANZ to join our leadership team and lead the HR function for the Australia and New Zealand region located in our new North Sydney office. Reporting directly to the Vice President HR, APAC and functionally to the Managing Director, ANZ, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the HR strategy across the business. With your deep understanding of the business context, you will support leadership teams, building and implementing HR strategies that align with Alstom’s objectives and drive efficiencies while meeting the needs and expectations of Alstom’s brand.
As the HR Director, you will:
- Develop and implement a people strategy that aligns with Alstom’s global and regional business objectives, covering talent acquisition, workforce planning, leadership development, performance management, and employee engagement to drive organisational success.
- Champion Alstom’s Code of Ethics and Values, ensuring HR practices reflect the company’s ethical standards while fostering a culture of integrity, inclusivity, and respect across the business.
- Leverage strategic and generalist HR experience to support senior leadership in driving people-focused initiatives.
- Provide strong business partnering, supporting leadership teams by coaching and influencing managers on HR best practices, fostering inclusive leadership, and driving strategic alignment.
- Lead the People Management Cycle, ensuring alignment of processes such as objective setting, career development, performance reviews, and succession planning with business goals to build a strong leadership pipeline.
- Be a key advisor to senior management on local regulations, labour laws, and employee relations, providing insights and making decisions related to conflict resolution and compliance.
- Build and foster a high-performance culture by taking ownership of leadership development initiatives and empowering teams at all levels to drive continuous growth and organisational success.
All About You:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Proven leadership in managing HR functions within a global matrix organisation, navigating complex structures, and building cross-regional relationships.
- Strong strategic mindset and business acumen, with broad experience across HR functions such as culture development, change management, recruitment, employee retention, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, training, HRIS, and administration.
- Expertise in developing and executing HR strategies focused on diversity, leadership development, performance management, and succession planning to drive business outcomes.
- Excellent business partnering and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate with senior leaders to align HR initiatives with organisational goals.
- High autonomy in decision-making and managing HR processes independently, while ensuring compliance with local labour laws and employee relations practices.
- Proven success in coaching and influencing leaders through complex HR decisions, fostering collaboration, and leading diverse teams.
