Your Future Role:
Alstom is seeking a Bid Management Team Leader to join our ANZ team, leading and developing a high-performing team of Bid Managers based in our North Sydney office. Every major rail project starts with a bid, and every winning bid starts with leadership. In this role, you will orchestrate complex tenders, embed best practice, and harness digital tools to sharpen our competitive edge, turning strategy into winning submissions across the ANZ portfolio. Sitting at the centre of Alstom's ANZ growth engine, you will bring together engineering, procurement, manufacturing and commercial stakeholders to deliver bids that are compelling, compliant, and commercially sound. You will champion best practice, embed planning discipline, and leverage digital tools to improve speed, accuracy and win probability.
As the Bid Management Team Leader, you will:
- Lead the bid lifecycle for medium and high-criticality tenders, from opportunity identification through submission and post-bid review.
- Mentor and develop talent, coaching Bid Managers and Senior Bid Managers, assessing skills, and building development plans that grow capability across the team.
- Drive planning discipline, reinforcing Work Package Reviews, documenting assumptions early, and ensuring on-time, compliant delivery.
- Collaborate across functions, aligning Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing and global units to deliver fully integrated solutions.
- Innovate with digital tools, implementing best practice and leveraging AI-driven analytics to improve speed and quality of submissions.
- Embed continuous improvement, leading Win-Loss Analysis (REX), building a reusable bid library, and standardising ANZ-specific checklists.

- Expertise in Project or Bid Management, with strong capability across costing, planning and risk management.
- Strong leadership and commercial acumen, with a proven ability to manage teams under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of the financial, contractual and legal frameworks that shape bids.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative and decisive mindset.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
