Your future role
With the advent of Systems-on-Chip (SoC) for functional safety applications and novel levels of multi-core integration, safety products are getting more compact and more energy efficient. But this integration introduces further challenges in safety applications to provide Freedom From Interference (FFI) between the cores.

Although, such functional safety SoC devised hardware firewalls to minimize FFI, it’s not enough convincing for safety applications in the railway industry. As such, other safety barriers need to be evaluated based on different criteria (e.g., performance, FFI goals, implementation complexity).

The focus of this unique summer internship is to implement and evaluate spatial separation mechanisms (enforcement and violation detection) in cutting edge functional safety SoC.

• Master’s degree program in computer science, electrical engineering, or embedded systems
• Good skills in Computer Architecture
• Knowledge about Operating Systems
• Familiarity with Software programming and compilers in Linux
• Experience with MCU or microprocessor
• Ability to work independently and with other team members
