Your Future Role
We are looking for a Railway Signalling Certification and Authorisation Engineer to join our team in Stockholm, Sweden. In this role, you will play a crucial part in authorising onboard and trackside signalling installations in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, collaborating with internal teams, clients, and key stakeholders across Europe.
This position is an excellent opportunity for recent engineering graduates eager to work in a fast-evolving, technical environment with multiple industry interfaces, including authorities, clients, and internal engineering teams. You will gain comprehensive industry knowledge and benefit from structured on-the-job training, working on real projects alongside experienced professionals.
As part of Alstom’s commitment to advancing railway signalling systems, we are equipping numerous railway vehicles in Sweden and Norway with the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS). Your role will be instrumental in developing the Certification and Authorisation support for these projects in Sweden.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and manage Certification & Authorisation plans and create supporting documentation for regulatory assessors.
- Act as a key interface in Certification and Authorisation matters, engaging with Alstom’s engineering teams, assessors, clients, and regulatory authorities in Sweden and across the EU.
- Gain hands-on experience through structured training and supervision, gradually taking on more responsibilities as you develop expertise in railway certification and compliance.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and internal tools, ensuring full compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
About You:

- Language Skills: Fluent English is mandatory. Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish is a strong advantage.
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s in engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Work Experience: Previous work experience is a plus but not required.
- Analytical & Critical Thinking: Strong report-writing skills, the ability to read and interpret complex documents, and a curiosity to understand the bigger picture.
- Attention to Detail: Capable of identifying relevant details while filtering out unnecessary information.
- Communication Skills: Flexible and effective communicator, able to engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the railway industry, particularly railway signalling, is beneficial but not required.
