Your future role

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Planner to assume a pivotal role in overseeing program scheduling and actively contribute to the successful execution of our programs. In this dynamic position, you will work closely with Program Managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams on a daily basis. Your responsibilities will include challenging and refining inputs, diligently tracking and reporting progress against the baseline schedule, and maintaining continuous vigilance over potential risks and opportunities.

The Program Planner position is instrumental in identifying and mitigating potential risks while ensuring optimal resource allocation to meet project milestones efficiently.  We’ll look to you for:

  • Program Scheduling: Collaborate with Program managers, engineers, and project teams to gather inputs for scheduling purposes.
  • Detailed Schedules: Develop detailed schedules that encompass all relevant activities from the standard WBS, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocations.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify and analyse critical paths, potential bottlenecks, and resource constraints to proactively address risks.
  • Schedule Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain schedules using project management software, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the programs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor progress, track deviations from the schedule, and provide timely reports and recommendations to your stakeholders.
  • Meetings and Workshops: Facilitate scheduling meetings and workshops to communicate schedule status, resolve conflicts, and align project teams. Organize and lead periodic schedule sessions.
  • Risk Mitigation: Focus on early identification of potential delays (critical paths) highlighting risks and margin related to the schedule and help to formulate mitigation plans.
  • Reporting: Support the preparation of program forecasts, reports, and presentations for management. Provide the gap between the actual and the baseline.
  • Cost traceability: Collaborate with Program controllers to integrate cost data for cost-time analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve scheduling processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Contribute to the return of experience (REX) and share best practices.

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience of project or program planning.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and tools (preferably Primavera or Microsoft Project)
  • Knowledge of railway industry projects is beneficial.
  • Ability to juggle with schedules simulations, various scenarios and changes
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Rigorous, structured with a sense of anticipation.
  • Fluent in English; Swedish is beneficial.
