Inside the Indirect Sourcing department and hierarchically linked to Transportation & Logistic Commodity Director this role involves the purchasing of Warehousing services to support global Supply Chain & Transportation services within ALSTOM footprint and Logistics Stakes. The successful applicant will manage numerous internal and external stakeholders to develop Warehousing requirements within Transportation & Logistics global perimeter and defined Procurement strategies on Logistics and Warehousing that deliver value for money and fit for purpose solutions.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES OF THE ROLE


Key Network & Links
The Commodity Manager will have to exchange information with following central, region & sites networks:

  • Global, Regional and Local Supply chain 
  • EHS & CSR (Environment …)
  • Indirect & Direct Procurement 
  • Tender & Project organizations
  • Finance/Legal/Sourcing Efficiency
  • Quality (SQD)

 

Objectives

  • Coordinate and source in line with business objectives and according to ALSTOM procurement processes
  • Define & develops commodities strategy with all stakeholders and drives its implementation (with all the Product lines)
  • Contribute to build Global T&L Commodity strategy
  • Lead commodity maturity improvement plan
  • Negotiate contracts and frame agreements with key suppliers
  • Define supplier target panel in-line with Sourcing strategy and makes sure it is implemented
  • Insured Commodity strategy efficiency with benchmarking  
  • Insured commodity maturity improvement through audit support and continuous improvement programs
  • Innovate with best practices proposal and leadership or implementation
  • Be recognized as a business development facilitator and an added-value contributor
  • Support Tender and Project Phases

 

Responsibilities

  • Built transversal commodities strategy improvement and deployment
  • Ensure Procurement project/service execution/influence by:
    • Developing close network of internal and external stakeholders worldwide
    • Working with internal stakeholders to align requirements with Procurement objectives
    • Challenging technical specifications produced by stakeholders
    • Bringing innovation through supplier selection and sustain supplier QCD performance
    • Contributing to Make or Buy decision process utilizing reference costing and market indicators
    • Supporting global negotiation for key projects securing savings in line with global targets
    • Ensuring Procurement strategy application and alignment with processes and policy
    • Develop strong relationship with Region and sites procurement organization 
    • Support Tender and Project Phases
    • Drive supplier complex negotiations as appropriate
    • Perform regular (min. quarterly) supplier performance review (incl. quality) and solves major issues and secures objectives achievement
  • Managing multicultural team 


PROFILE


To be considered for this role, candidate need to be able to demonstrate the following skills experience and attributes:     

  • Educational Degree: Business school or Engineering school preferred 
  • Experience
    • Experience between 6 to 10 years in international purchasing within an industrial environment
    • Experience within Management (direct and functional)
    • Experience with Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain is a real plus
  • Technical & Behavioral Competencies 
    • Strong buying and negotiating expertise
    • Capability to build a robust strategy
    • Strong sense of business acumen and analytical skills
    • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills 
    • Management experience 
    • Results, service and Customer oriented
    • Agile in a multi-cultural environment 
    • Team spirit, autonomous, force of proposal
    • Good command of English is mandatory
    • Able to regularly travel to sites (20%/30%) under scope of responsibility
