As Electrical Wiring Design Team Lead, you will have the opportunity and satisfaction to be involved in the complete life cycle of large-scale projects starting from bid and ending by production of last vehicle. You will work with other functions on design, production, installation and testing of electrical harnesses and lockers.

To succeed in this role, the candidate need to be well organized, schedule driven and capable of making sound engineering decisions based on customer requirements, cost and manufacturing efficiency to deliver a quality and reliable product to the mass-transit market.

You will be responsible of budget, schedule (deliverable), training and performance management of your team.  Therefore, you will interface on a daily basis with management and project team as you will provide them project progress reports.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage and assign to his team member multiple issues in a schedule-driven production environment, ensuring all problems raised have an owner and an action plan that suits the production schedule.  Manage resources and budget required for the team success.
  • From basic instructions (sketches, technical drawings, schematic diagrams) from engineering, customer standards and specifications or general standards, defines the first drafts of technical solutions to fulfill the functional requirements, performance and maintenance. Performs the integration of electrical diagrams. Tracks the elements required for the design. Performs the design of general or partial assemblies, taking into account the manufacturing capabilities of the plant.
  • Manage performance and development of resources toward a constant improvement of the team workforce capabilities.  Identify gap between team scope and workload and its actual capabilities to deploy immediate action to avoid any project impact due to lack of resources. Manage team resource one to one performance evaluation and development yearly review plan supported by his manager.
  • Provides status and progress reports to project team and senior management as required.

 

 

REQUIRED PROFILE:

 

Education required:  Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree.  Electrical experience is preferred.

Number of years of experience required: 5 years minimum

Technical skills/knowledge (if required):

  • Creation, modification or verification of electrical schematic
  • Selection and sizing of cable or other electrical components
  • Panel or harnesses manufacturing production support
  • E3 or any other electrical CAD software,
  • PSPICE or any other electrical circuit simulation software,
  • Catia V5 would be an asset

Language ability :

  • French, English
