VE - Validation Engineer

 

Purpose of the Job

  • He/she performs the Certification and Validation activities for part of the train delegated by the TVE during project execution

  • He/she writes the Train test procedures

  • He/she validates the Train test reports

  • Functional : Train Validation Engineer

  • Internal Interfaces : Train System Engineer, RAMS manager, Test Laboratory Manager, Test Engineers

  • External Interfaces : Engineering subcontractors, Test laboratories 

 

Missions

  • Performance Measurement/KPI’s
    Relevant part of the QCD  

 

Accountable for : Executing tests and providing reports.
 

Responsible for :

  • Executing activities given by the Train Validation Engineer (TVE)

  • Updating the Validation Plan

  • In accordance with test specifications, defining the most appropriate testing methodology, tools & means (chamber, track, train, ...) thru writing train test procedures and a specification of tools and means

  • Ensuring the timely issuing of the Validation proves (including proves of lower level systems and components) and consolidates Validation files

  • Validating train test reports

  • Providing structured REX to feed costing activities, and to enrich the CV metier technical repository

 
Job Specifications

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Train system knowledge (system analysis, railways) : at least 2 years

  • Tests organization capability, knowledge of planning tools

  • Fluent in english

  • Required electrical habilitation level (french definitions):

  • B2V - B2V Essai - BE Essais - BR - BC

  • H2V - H2V Essais - HE Essais - HC

 

Team size : NIL

 

Innovation

  • Shall input REX from Validation standpoint notably on validation methods/tools improvement (from a quality, duration and cost point of view) on his/her scope of activities in particular to decrease the time spent on trains
