Software and Control Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for our location in Mannheim, Germany
We are currently looking to recruit a Control Engineer for our team located in Mannheim, Germany.
As a Control Engineer, you will apply the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software and systems to fulfil the stakeholder requirements.
You will perform software design assignments requiring initiative, resourcefulness and design experience and provide advice and guidance to other engineers or designers.
Your responsibilities will include:

Develop solution for embedded systems in rail environment especially for locomotives

Analyse and transform specified requirements into design solutions which have the required safety integrity level

Responsible for the implementation of development practices as defined in the Train Control support plans and process.

Deliver outputs including Functional Design Description, Software Architecture and Design, Interfaces, Electrical Schemes and Electrical Products definition (with the support Of Electrical Lead Engineer)

Participating in Treatment of Change Requests.

Ensuring standardization and maximize the carry over or reference function with previous project

Support provider for Supplier interface test or TC&IS verification tests on PC or TCMS Test Bench or on the vehicle directly
Key requirements/Qualifications:

BSc Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronical/Computer Science) or MA/PhD or equivalent

2 years of experience in a similar role

Good understanding of Requirement management tools (Doors)

Previous working experience with Change Management tools (IBM tools/Polarion/ …)

Basic understanding of electrical wiring and networking.

Hands-On experience in at least one programming language

Working experience with embedded systems is appreciated.

Experience on configuration and change management.

Knowledge of structured SW development methods is appreciated.

Knowledge of Agile Methodology is desired.

Appreciated competences: Communication, team player, problem solving, initiative.

Fluent in German and English
