Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your EHS and operational expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside professional and dedicated teammates.
You'll manage and coordinate our EHS activity for the EMU35 project - Services product line in Bulgaria. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (business development, bids, project management, engineering, industrial, quality, and different support functions), offer support to our local teams, maintain the link with our central teams, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of performing, monitoring, and controlling the Health and Safety at Work and Environment (EHS) activities based on Alstom's working rules and relevant legislation, but also ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
We’ll look to you for:
- Implementing and maintaining the integrated management system for Environment-SSM-Energy (ISO14001-ISO45001-ISO50001) in the designated area of competence.
- Identifying hazards and conducting risk assessments for work systems, activities, and workplaces within your area of responsibility.
- Evaluating environmental aspects generated by project activities.
- Ensuring compliance with annual EHS management documents such as the Prevention and Protection Plan and Environmental Management Program.
- Developing instructions to complement and apply legal safety and health regulations based on contractual requirements.
- Monitoring the adherence of workers to safety measures and their responsibilities as outlined in job descriptions.
- Providing safety and health training for workers and verifying the application of the information provided.
- Identifying and implementing required safety and health signaling in the workplace.
- Maintaining up-to-date records of qualifications and jobs requiring authorization as per specific legislation.
- Conducting internal controls at workplaces to ensure compliance.
- Identifying and managing individual protective equipment (PPE) requirements for workstations.
- Delivering EHS training for new employees and subcontractors.
- Monitoring subcontractors to ensure adherence to Alstom's EHS requirements.
- Participating in the investigation of incidents and accidents at work.
- Documenting employee improvement proposals and monitoring the EHS deviations database.
- Completing tasks assigned by the EHS Manager/EHS Management Representative.

- Degree in a technical field.
- Completion of a safety and health training course (minimum 80 hours).
- Completion of an environmental training course is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience in the field of safety, health, or environmental protection.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in the industrial field, preferably in the railway industry.
- Strong knowledge of legal requirements for safety, health, and environmental protection.
- Advanced proficiency in Bulgarian language.
- Conversational level of English.
