Thomson–East Coast line (TEL) is a medium-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore that is currently under construction, being the sixth line to be built. The line was announced on 15 August 2014 by the Land Transport Authority.  The fully underground line is 43 km long and consists of 31 stations, 2 Operation Control Centres (OCC), 2 Depots, and will be among the world's longest driverless rapid transit lines. The line will open in five stages from 2019 onwards and will be operated by Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT).

A complex and challenging project, Alstom will design, supply, install and commission the signaling Urbalis 400 Communications-based train control (CBTC) system and platform screen doors for Thomson Line.



  • Member of the Signalling team in charge of delivering a Signalling System or Sub-System to end customers for the Thomson & East-Coast Line.
  • Site based ATS/SYS Engineer involved in test & commissioning activities for Thomson Line project which includes
  • Organize and FollowUp functional TTR activities both internally and with Customer
  • Interface with Design team for site anomaly Analysis.
  • Interface with Customer and Other project contractor (SWC) for meetings
  • Interface with Operator for Revenue Service Issue for FollowUp
  • Interface will be focus on the Overall SIG System
  • Direct interface with Customer and Other Contractors

  • Follow up TTR Activities (Planning, Procedure evolutions, Reporting)
  • Follow up Revenue Service Issues (FnD)
  • Analyse site testing based on the approved procedures and specification
  • Support the T&C manager in the daily tasks (e.g. As Installed SW Configuration and authorisation, Progress Report,…)
  • Represent Alstom and T&C Manager in TTR meeting with customer, operator and other SWC
  • Interface with Engineering team for problem solving and planning
  • Quality
  • Ensure technical submissions are in line with ALSTOM Quality Plan and fit consortium and/or customer Quality rules.
  • Participate to ensure achievement of Quality Gate Review GR on time.
  • Health and Safety
  • Respect H&S rules applied by : ALSTOM, customer, Local regulations
  • Ensure H&S rules are shared inside the local RC Engineering team
  • Punctual activities on working site (Signalling Equipment Room, Track, OCC) might be needed during installation and T&C.


Qualifications & Skills:



  • Master Degree in Engineering



  • 5+ years’ experience in T&C, preferably Communication based signalling systems for Mainline and/or Urban applications
  • Experience in Customer Relation
  • Experience in redaction of technical documents
  • Knowledge in signalling
  • ATS Knowledge is a plus
