INTRODUCTION

 

Thomson–East Coast line (TEL) is a medium-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore that is currently under construction, being the sixth line to be built. The line was announced on 15 August 2014 by the Land Transport Authority.  The fully underground line is 43 km long and consists of 31 stations, 2 Operation Control Centers (OCC), 2 Depots, and will be among the world's longest driverless rapid transit lines. The line will open in five stages from 2019 onwards and will be operated by Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT).

Under T252 contract, Alstom will design, supply, install and commission the signaling Urbalis 400 Communications-based train control (CBTC) system and platform screen doors for Thomson Line. TEL is a complex and challenging project for which Alstom as System Wide Contractor (SWC) needs to interface with other 29 SWCs, 35 Civil Works and 5 A/E consultants.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

CBI T&C Engineer


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Designing/ maintaining/ updating of Test cases for CBI subsystem and other external interfaces with CBI
  • Preparation of testing activities of a CBI signaling system
  • Efficiency and proactivity during the execution of the T&C tests
  • Defect identification and trouble shooting
  • Reporting of defects, follow-up on detected issues.
  • On time delivery of the commissioning report
  • To report to CBI Leader on daily/ weekly progress.
  • Alerts the hieratical superiors by any risk identified during the testing activities, and especially alerts any hieratical manager (Sub-System Leader, PrCOM, PM, RC TCM, …) if any EHS risk is identified
  • Compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards

EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET

  •  Good knowledge in trackside signalling architecture
  • Good knowledge of Defect Management and Configuration Management.
  • Should be able to generate test plans and/or procedures and reports, Validation principles.
  • Should be able to do troubleshooting on site.
  • Knowledge of railway operations.
  • System knowledge on overall signalling systems.
  • Understand scheduling principles on railway operations
  • Good knowledge of English (read, written, spoken)
  • Any other additional language is an asset 


Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelore’s degree in Engineering (preferably electronics or embedded systems) or equivalent experience.
