Circle Line (CCL) is the world’s second fully automated driverless medium-capacity rapid transit line. The orbital design concept of the Circle Line which its purpose is to link and serve all the other lines of the Singapore, makes it the most strategical line of the country. On 17 January 2013, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced the final stage 6 of the Circle Line which will close the circle by 2025. Alstom as historical main contractor of the five first stages of the line, was awarded in October 2017 for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the Signaling System (Communications-Based Train Control) for the stage 6 of the line (3 additional stations with automatic operation in circle), extension of the biggest underground depot in the world (Kim Chuan Depot) to double its capacity up to 140 trains, additional 23 trains and 4 locomotives, and complete renewal of the Automatic Supervision System (ATS). This is a very challenging brownfield project which requires Alstom to execute complex work and strong coordination with various stakeholders (E&M, Civil, Trackwork, Public Transport Authorities and Operator) in a line that is already in revenue service.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

• As part of its awarded contract for the Circle Line Stage 6 (CCL6), Alstom has in its scope to perform the overhaul of some of the Signaling sub-systems for the existing CCL. This work includes the complete renewal of the Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) system to be able to support the future performances requirements for the Stage 6 of the line.
• The ATS Engineer is responsible for the overall preparation, coordination, testing and execution of the ATS activities for the renewal of the ATS system for the existing CCL, including extension of the future stage 6 and depot.

As an ATS Engineer (M/F), you will join the Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) department and report to the ATS Leader.

You play a key role within the organization because you are involved throughout the V-cycle, from the upstream phase of capturing customer needs to integration with the customer. You will be responsible for setting up and managing the ATS Integration activities of the program in Singapore. You will work on a new software development project and actively participate in the implementation of this project.

Qualifications & Skills:

EDUCATION

• Degree or Master degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE 

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commissioning of complex systems (ATS, SCADA or similar),
• Strong knowledge in deployment of Automatic Train Supervision systems (or with similar complexity),
• Strong knowledge in OPC client-server architectures, XML, COM/DCOM, Database (MS-SQL), batch scripting, Windows HMI design, Network configuration principles,
• Good knowledge in real-time and operating systems fundamentals, common programming languages,
• Good knowledge in Signaling environments, railway operations principles,
• Ability to write test plans and/or procedures and reports, define acceptance criteria,
• Ability to perform comprehensive software troubleshooting and debugging of complex systems.
