Could you be the full/part-time Suspension Engineer (f/m/d) in Hennigsdorf we’re looking for?
Your Future Role
2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Johannes Picht and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to :

Develop suspension components and systems in close collaboration with the respective suppliers and Alstom internal departments

Follow the suspension components throughout the product cycle (R&D, concept development, tender, project and warranty phase) with:

Pre-definition / dimensioning
-
Detailed design (in-house and with suppliers)
-
Creation of technical documents (specification, test procedures, clause-by-clause)
-
Component validation / testing
-
Train homologation and on-track testing
-
Warranty & Services
-
Support service activities and resolution of field issues with technical expertise

Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of suspension design guidelines and tools
All About You

BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering (ETH/TU/FH) or equivalent

Fluent English; German and/or French a plus

Academic experience with FEA and 3D CAD

Nice-to-have: experience with rubber-like materials
-
Nice-to-have: programming knowledge (Python, VBA, Matlab)
-
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, statics, and dynamics
-
Solid knowledge of finite element analysis
-
Ability to manage diverse topics across multiple projects
-
Motivation to work in an international, multicultural expert team

Proactive, self-driven work style with increasing independence after onboarding
