Job Description:
- The performance, reliability and availability of the communication inside Signaling Systems is key, for driving the trains and managing the traffic operation. Any failure, any disturbance, any missed information could reach to traffic interruption of metro line. A redundant system architecture can of course limit the risk of disruption, but during project execution 2 main factors shall remain under control:
- Telecom equipment distribution rules definition and their application on the site
- Telecom performance monitoring
- The telecom system has been designed in ALSTOM before to be deployed in China by CASCO engineers who have reached a high autonomy level in this field. It is anyway important to keep ALSTOM aware about the situation, anticipating any failures, instead of re-acting for traffic operation interruption.
- The Telecom Engineer is based in CASCO premises (Shanghai – China). Her/His main responsibility is to secure the deployment of the Telecom System during project execution. In particular the mission consists in:
- Review the Telecom equipment distribution rules during design phase. The rules have been defined by ALSTOM design authority. They have to be applied and customized during project design phase
- Identify Telecom equipment distribution rules optimization, reaching to decrease the quantity of equipment on the track, keeping the performance as required
- Attend to track survey, installation and tests on site when necessary
- Interface the ALSTOM Telecom experts for problem solving and for performance improvement
- Monitor the performance of the Telecom System, Analyze the logs and Write the monitoring report regularly on all the projects. This report must highlight the situation and propose solution for reaching the performance required
- Before moving to China, a time period (duration to be discussed) is required in ALSTOM office in Saint-Ouen – France, for learning about the Telecom System, deployment process and tools. This period is also an opportunity to make networking within ALSTOM Telecom Experts, which is very useful when working from China
- The Telecom Engineer will report to the QIJI Technical Director authority from ALSTOM who is also based in CASCO premises
Education requirement:
- Graduated from Master Degree in Telecom Engineering or equivalent
Competencies & Skills
- Fluent in French and English
- Able to work in a multicultural environment linked to the Joint Venture context
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to share knowledge, ability to communicate to experts
- Problem solving skills: logical and analytical approach, with a creative mind, capable of synthesizing issues and guide for decision making
- Rigorous, autonomous, result-oriented
- Able to work under pressure and manage issues with priority
VIE Requirement:
- Have French citizenship or from the EU
- 2 year work experience as employee (for the purpose of applying for work permit in China)
- Age between 18 to 28
