As a Senior Safety and Reliability Engineer, you will conduct safety and reliability processes and activities throughout the lifecycle of Bombardier Transportation (BT) products and sub-systems. An essential part of this work is the provision of the necessary safety and reliability analyses, based on detailed analyses carried out by other specialists in their own technical fields.
As a Senior Engineer, you will successfully contribute to the product/subsystem:
Specification and development of the product family;
Submission and design;
preliminary and detailed design;
Validation and Authorization
In addition, you:
Support and/or supervise and/or develop "product safety and reliability engineers";
Work on complex tasks, high risk issues and projects;
Provide cost and schedule estimates for complex engineering programs;
Provide technical expertise in support of colleagues or departments with less security and reliability experience;
Participate in the WO document approval process; and Cycle V validation activities.
Your responsibilities include:
Product safety and reliability assessment, documentation and validation activities for supporting projects or product families;
Communication, support to other engineering functions, evaluators and stakeholders regarding the project or work of the product family;
Lead product safety activities related to incident, accident and near miss management;
Planning, reporting and horizontal activities associated with the role.
Key Requirements:
a university degree (B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent) or equivalent work experience;
A minimum of eight (8) years of post-doctoral experience;
Proven experience in safety and/or reliability;
Knowledge and experience in applying safety and reliability assessment techniques (FTA, risk matrix, FME(C)A, etc.);
Experience in applying relevant software tools (e.g. DOORS, Fault Tree+, etc.) is useful;
Knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of relevant standards, legislation and regulations: may include EN 5012x, MIL-STD-882, IEEE Std 1012, CSM for risk assessment, etc.;
Basic knowledge in a particular engineering field (e.g. brakes, etc.) may be useful;
Excellent communication skills in English and French.
