Project Industrial Manager (PrIM)

Purpose of the job
The PrIM pilots, for a project, the following activities :

  • Process & Manufacturing Engineering
  • Flow industrialization, product protection (with the support of SC dept.) 
  • Manufacturing

The PrIM integrates Supply Chain & Quality requirements for industrial management.

 

 

Responsibilities
During specification and preliminary design phases:

  • Set-up Industrial organization of the project: staffing, work package, tools.
  • Precise PIO (Project Industrial Organization) and DAMOB (Make or Buy strategy)
  • Coordinate co-engineering activities along with the PrEM. Animate ICONE workshops.
  • Arbitrate on product / process solutions when needed.
  • Perform gap analysis with Ref Lib, identify impact on manufacturing process.
  • Build IMP (Industrial Management Plan)
  • Contributes to the logistics strategy definition with the PrSCM (Project Supply Chain Manager)
  • Identify the list of long lead time items to be monitored through the PMFU (Parts Maturity Follow-up) in coordination with PrSM and PrSCM

 
During detailed design phase and before Serial Go:

  • Monitor the industrialization activity using IMFU (Industrial Maturity Follow-Up), and completion of the following deliverables:
    • Industrial documentation (Work Instructions)
    • Manufacturing equipment and tooling
    • Workshop and work stations layouts
    • ERP master data, including routings & method time.
    • Line balancing and task sequencing
  • Ensure completion of P-FMEA and Control Plan along with Industrial Quality
  • Define Transfer of activities and bring support to ToT Manager.
  • Contributes to the definition of the kitting strategy (purchasing & line feeding)
  • Plan and organize training of manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure qualification of manufacturing blue collars on special processes in due time.
  • Manage the production planning at the start of production (pre-serial phase)
  • Ensure internal FAIs are performed on schedule in order to pronounce the Serial Go.
  • Participate to CCB (Change and Configuration Board) to validate engineering changes and define date or rank of application.

 

After serial Go:

  • Manage the retrofit activities after engineering changes: industrialization, and manufacturing planning. Set-up a dedicated organization and coordinate with the PrTCM.
  • Coordinates with PSCM the parts procurement in case of retrofit activities
  • Lead the improvement action plan to achieve Industrial QCD targets.

 

Other activities:

  • Contributes to industrial costing for tenders.
  • Participates to R&D programs as industrial representative.
  • Perform industrial REX on industrial activities.
  • Contribute to update the Industrial Ref Lib.


Educational Requirements

  • Technical education.
  • English read, written, spoken 

 
Desired Knowledge / Experience

  • Manufacturing / Manufacturing Engineering / Supply Chain background with 10 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP).
  • Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics.
  • Familiar with IS common tools.
  • Methodologies: Process FMEA, QRQC.
