Train System Engineer

Scope of Mission:

Defines and verifies the Global Train System architecture, performances, operational modes and functionalities in compliance with initial requirements (customer, reference project, standards, company rules), ensures consistency and compatibility between all the sub-functions specifications and interfaces. Is responsible for the applicable train configuration and establishes FBS (Functional Breakdown Structure). Is involved during the whole project phases, from tender to commercial service, arbitrating on technical issues.

Responsibilities

Define and manage the global train system architecture as input the external/internal requirements, to ensure consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications:

• Manages customer technical interface

• Manages the requirement database consistencies at system level

• Defines/Update the global train system architecture, operational modes, interfaces and functionalities

• Develop /Update the train level requirement & allocate them to the sub systems

• Lead the internal technical design reviews according to the Quality process

• Develop /Update the train level requirement & allocate them to the sub systems

• Define the mean of proof (documentation, test) for requirements at train level

• Insure consistency on interfaces and functions between sub-systems

• Allocates the transverse requirements allocations to sub-systems

• Defines the Train validation specification (functions/performances check)

• Technical interface with customer in order to provide support to Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.

• Make arbitration on architecture definition between the subsystems to reach the best compromise at train level.

Skill, Education & Knowledge

• A Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent is required for this role along with at least 3-5 years of experience in writing system specification and requirement management.

• Strong teamwork and a dynamic person with leadership is required for this role.

• Usage of requirement management tool as DOORS.

• More than 5 years in Railways engineering or aeronautic or energy industries.

• Familiarity with electrical schematics, pneumatic diagram and mechanical drawings.
