Software Verification & Test Engineer (V&TE)

He/she performs validation and verification activities on functions of Train Control Management System sub-systems and components on the project assigned
 

Software Verification process is composed by four phases:

• Tests on PC (SIL TCMS + MIL Subsystems + Electrical schematics simulated)
• Tests on Test benches (HIL TCMS + MIL Subsystems + Electrical schematics simulated)
• Tests on Train Lab (HIL TCMS + HIL Subsystems)
• Tests on Train

The Software Verification & Test Engineer (V&TE) is accountable for Tests on PC and on Test Benches. He also supports Tests on Train Lab and on Train in case of need.

In particular he is responsible for:
 

The Verification & Test Engineer (V&TE) is responsible for:

·  Delivery of Verification & Tests tools to be used during Validation Campaign
·  Setting-up the verification & test environment (including MIL subsystems) applying the appropriate configuration

·  Delivery of TCMS verification & test procedures on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope, according to his/her Engineering Work Package.
·  Deployment and application of TCMS development procedures and processes on his/her project
·  Performing TCMS verification and tests on PC, test-benches and trains
·  Delivery of TCMS verification & test reports on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope
·  Delivery of TCMS coverage matrix on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope
·  Configuration management of Verification & Test deliverables on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope : 100% deliverables properly managed into configuration database
·  Management of validation status of change requests (CR) on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope : all CR status up-to-date in CR database (in line with test procedures and reports)
·  Management of CR on the functions and sub-systems in his/her scope: all NOK results in test reports related to a CR
 

Knowledge & Experience

·  Railway domain and TCMS knowledge is a plus.

·  Practical knowledge of validation methods (boundary tests, equivalent class tests…)

·  Practical knowledge of validation tools (TestStand, model-based testing tools…)
·  Practical knowledge of validation Means (Testbench, simulators…)
·  Familiar with software development using model based development tools like Matlab / Simulink, Python,  Control Build for instance in Railway or Health, Defence, Aeronautical, Automotive domains.
·  Knowledge of network protocols like MVB, Ethernet, CAN, RS232, RS 485 etc
